DOWN AT DADDY DAVID'S FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS
Tuesday 12 August 2008
Jezz and I went down to Brighton for 2 nights to stay with David. It was a particular poignant time as we stayed with him throughout his anniversary day of his partner's death, 13 August 1995. David also took us out to the Brighton and Hove Musuem, Shoreham to watch the surfers, Coombes Village and church and Steyning Village. |
 I'M EATING FISH AT LAST
Tuesday 5 August 2008
Thanks to Jezz and David, I have starting experimenting with eating fish again. Today Jezz and I bought a huge Loch Etive Seagrown Trout Fillet. I took this picture with my new camera too. It's a new Nikon Coolpix S520.

DOLLY'S PANTRY MAKES IT IN THE RECOMENDALTONS PAGE
Wednesday 30 July 2008
Jezz and I went back for a second visit to Dolly's Pantry in Ditchling Village. This is THE best place for a cream tea but they do a gorgeous cooked breakfast all day too. Sally, Sophie and Patsy are as warm welcoming as the scones. |

MY DADDY
12 November 1924 - 12 April 2008
The biggest loss in my life that is, and always be... my dear father. He continues to live on inside of me: with his laughter in my mind and his love in my heart.
Broken and lost, I spend the never-ending task of picking up the pieces... and re-living some of my most cherished memories that have Dad in them. |

JEFF AKERS
7 July 1957 - 19 February 2008
A website celebrating Jeff's life, displaying some photos and tributes from those that knew him. We are very grateful to those that have sent a tribute and we can share with you that Mike and Jeff's family are aware of your kind words. It is a great comfort to know that Jeff was loved by so many. |

ME
ON LBC
Thursday 3 April 2008, I was
driving in the car and one of the topics on the James O'Brien show was
about wolf-whistles. Now, for those that know me, they are already
aware that I have a gadget that plays silly noises through a loud PA
style speaker, under the bonnet of my car. I just had to call in
to LBC 97.3FM and tell them.

THEMED PAGES
Here at waynealton.com we sometimes feature a day out or themed evening, like
photos of New Year's Eve or the trip to Thorpe Park, so below, we've resurrected
the photos once more and we've listed those pages that would have otherwise been
deleted by now. There is also a section for tributes to individuals <here>.

REMEMBERING
FOREVER
This is a page I've
dedicated to those who have been near and dear to me and that have
passed on. From family members including my Grandmother who died in 1989
to my nephew of 18 months, Billy. Friends Miles, Frank, Marc and sadly
missed but so fondly remembered, Jeanie. And now, most recently and missing like a vital organ, my Daddy, who died April 2008.

FRIENDS ALBUM
It's getting
bigger you know? Yes, now that the servers are offering unlimited web
space, I'm able to upload more photos to share. Hoorah. There's enough now that
I've needed to separate them alphabetically. |

WAYNE'S DRIVEN...
Another page
dedicated to all the cars that I've either had the privilege to drive or ones
that I've owned or shared with partners of old. Some of the pictures are
of the actual car but of the ones where I didn't take a picture at the time: I've had some fun trying to find a picture that best matches the car. |

RECOMMENDALTONS
waynealton.com has its own recommendations page: if there's a business
you're after, then have a look to see if we used the same line of work
from someone... if they were fab, they'll be on this page! |
|
PREVIOUS QUOTES
I
would like to remind our infrequent visitors of the "PREVIOUS QUOTES"
page.
Some folk have contributed to waynealton.com over the years without even knowing it!
The Previous Quotes page is all about either
whacky, hysterical, inappropriate or just plain beautiful statements that have
been said by those near and dear.

Jezz and I took another of our Wednesday day outs and this time it was to the museum of vintage cars and a large collection of wildfowl. The weather was perfect and as it was based in Halland in Lewes, near Brighton; we went on Ditchling Village for our second visit to Dolly's Pantry and Bakery. |

BROOKLANDS MUSEUM AND MERCEDES BENZ WORLD
11 June 2008
Jezz and I try new places to go to that aren't too far away or too expensive. So, we went to the Brooklands Museum and
then back in the car for a short drive to the Mercedes Benz World.
It was a fab day out, the weather was ideal, Jezz had organised a packed
lunch and we both took photos of the day. |

PAUL AND NIKKI
CAIGER'S WEDDING
11 November 2006
A proud day for our family, Nikki my sister marries Paul Caiger. The
service was at Morden Registry Office and the reception was at The

THORPE
PARK 2004
16 September 2004
It was Jezz's
threat for me to get on an aeroplane or go to a theme park and do the
rides... the rides one, at the time. I'm proud to say I've done both -
however, with no satisfactory conclusion to either! |

IS
THIS WHAT I'VE BEEN HARPING ON ABOUT OR WHAT?
For those that know me well enough,
you'll already be aware of the rants and orange soap box style speeches I've
blurted on about ever since paying for my BT phone bill in a monthly budget way.
For those that don't know... it's £23.85 per quarter for BT Anytime
Calls (formerly known as Option 3) and should include all calls
made in the UK excluding mobiles (which are now only 5p per minute). Well, respectfully, it's not bad and it
means that you can pretty much budget for your landline bill by paying a few
pounds extra to cover the cost of that odd mobile phone call you made.
But, around the same time, there was this sudden surge of 0870 and 0845 numbers
popping up everywhere to replace the old geographical phone number for
companies. Typically, my ISP and my bank were the first two and sure
enough, building societies and other numbers I called regularly were joining the
0870 parade. So, imagine my delight when an old pal, that's as in she's old
and a mate of mine, Sarah Williams, informed me of this new website. It's
brilliant! You can use the site's search engine to locate an alternative
number that would be either geographical or even an 0800 equivalent. It's
possible, using their search facility, to look up an existing 0870 number that
you have in your phonebook to find an alternative number without knowing the
name of the company. It's excellent.. go to it immediately... start using
it and spread the word. and think of this... it could be saving you up to
9p per minute for every 0870 you used to call.
