HOW TO...

Problem: In Internet Explorer, I've lost Google as my home page.  How do I get it back?

Answer:

  1. Launch Internet Explorer.

  2. Type in www.google.co.uk In the URL field (address field) and press Enter on the keyboard.

  3. Over on the right hand side, look for the option “Tools.”

  4. Choose “Internet Options” from the pull down list.

  5. The dialog box that will appear should present itself with the first tab, General. If not, ensure that you are looking at General tab.

  6. In the Home page element of this dialog, click on the button called: “Use current.”

  7. Then click on OK at the bottom of the dialog.

  8. Test that the new settings are OK by exiting Internet Explorer and re-launching.

Problem: Where's my Menu Bar gone?

Answer: If you're in a window and it seems that your menu bar has disappeared, try just pressing the left-hand ALT key (between the Windows key and spacebar).
