Karel - 2006

This is Karel, another friend of Nick's who we met when Karel stayed with Nick for a while in 2006.

Karen and Sarah - 2000

I first met Sarah as a workmate, working for the Benefits Agency around 1995. She became a huge drinking pal of mine in Sutton then and we even worked together again at the DIA for a while. Here she is with her partner Karen, who is a wonderful and lovely person.

Karl Moffatt - 2004

I met Karl through a website and we instantly had a good rapour with one another.  I saw him occasionally and we'd spend some good times together. Karl's a nice guy and I've learned from him well.

Kate and me - 2003

Kate is Vicki's sister and we're here together at Julie's 50th birthday party.

Kenneth - 2001

This is Kenneth, Gavin's ex.  Jezz and I spent New Year's Eve with Kenneth and Gavin at their place in Finsbury Park.  They're no longer together and neither of them live locally anymore, though I keep in touch with Gavin very well.

Kes and his daughter - 2006

I met Kes when he came for an audition as a DJ on the fondly remembered pirate station SLR, ran by Pete. Kes's love for music and singing brought us together again a few years after SLR, when he kindly recorded an album of my singing against his superb self-made backing tracks. He's pictured here with his latest member of his family, his daughter.

Kieran and Nicky - 2005

Since my diagnosis in 1997, I've been under Kieran's dental surgery in Wandsworth.  Here she is with assistant Nicky.

Kim - 2006

This is Kim, who is mad! She's also completely adorable and totally addictive to be in the company of.  I met Kim through her being a friend of my sister Nikki.

Lawrence - 2004

My sister Nikola's ex, Lawrence and father to my nephew Charlie and niece Stacey.  Lawrence only comes available as Large and for the most part, that's good because he can be fun and sociable.  He's also played a part in my life like having a big brother that I felt looked out for me.  His demise was lying to me when he swore that he was not having an affair when he was.

Lee - 2003

Lee, formerly David and I go back as far as 1986.  As a friend, with the exception of Pete, I have known Lee longer than I have known anyone else who is in my life.  Despite a short time of losing touch with another, Lee and I have been close and in touch consistently and regularly.  We share an almost identical sense of humour and our love for comedy keeps us entertained in hour long telephone conversations, as well as putting the world to rights.  His charming laid back approach to life, like Maggie's Dave, can be just the right tonic at times!  This photo of Lee is of him karaoking at the no longer established establishment, Horse and Jockey which changed its name to the Goose and Carrot for the last 5 years of its life, situated in West Croydon.

Linda Gray and me - 1994

My mate Linda from Newcastle.  I met Linda while working for the Benefits Agency, Sutton.  She, along with Pam, were the only two in the office that weren't starchy and frumpy.  I remember that job as being very stuffy and stuck up and Linda and Pam, jointly just made the place alive and youthful.  I spent many a lunch hour (or just over an hour) with them in the pub, The Moon on the Hill and this picture with me dancing with Linda, was taken at hm-ma-na of the 90's, John Penman's flat in Sutton.  What I'd give to bump in to him again!

Linda Phillips - 1994

Awe, my workmate, friend and neighbour.  Linda's one of those you fall in love with immediately on meeting her.  I miss her a lot!  Linda was an excellent listener, admittedly that was largely for her fascination for gossip but seriously, she was fab to work with and was a good neighbour too.  She's pictured here in her kitchen at Sutton when she lived with Christine.

Liz - 2006

Here's a mate and a Mum in one!  Liz I first met whilst working at the DIA and we quickly became great pals, spending lunch times together wandering off to the Harvester Inn pub, Beddington or wandering around Asda and frequenting their canteen.  Liz is also outrageous, a complete hoot and totally theatrical - which explains away her addictable "fag-hag" qualities.  A true friend and tough act to follow is our Liz.  I took this picture with my mobile in one of our rare but much cherished luncheon meetings.

Lizz is the other sister to Vicki and Kate and the middle one!  I met Lizz when I was visiting Vicki's family, around 1998.  I think of Lizz as being level headed, adorable and just so pleasant to be in the company of.  This photo is of her with her daughter Cerys.

Maggie - 2005

This is Maggie May, or may not! Pictured in her kitchen here in 2005, Maggie is Vicki's aunty. Now, this one is barmey! Not frighteningly barmey but totally adorable barmey! Haha! I love Maggie so much... it hurts!

Marc Le Riche - 2002

We met Marc when he was running the Goose and Carrot, West Croydon with his partner Richard, David and Tony. Marc was always good fun to be around. He sadly passed away in December of 2004.

Mark - 2006

This is Mark. Hmmph. Hahaha! Mark is Nick Ward's ex and is huge. Well he towers above me but then most do. Mark is one of the most honest and law abiding citizens on the planet. And he's lovely. I call him Grape Ape from the 70's cartoon. Mark's not purple though but he can crush a Mini Cooper between his thumb and forefinger.

Mayo - 2008

Mayo is a workmate of Simon's and they decided to share a  flat together in 2008.  He's from Slovakia.

Mark - 2005

This is a friend of Nicky's and he's lovely... Mark's from Ireland and visits frequently. He's lovely and nice to just have standing next to  <cheesey smirk>.

Mel - 2008

Reunited with me old pal Mel, 12 September 2008.  Mel's larger than life personality is addictive and fabulous.  She's terrific company, very funny and intelligent.

Michael Charlton - 2003

Here's our mate Michael.  Jezz met him originally, he became a host of our monthly gentlemen parties and has single-handedly modernised our flat with his expert carpentry and plumbing skills.  Aside from that, Michael is a great mate with a good vocabulary and has taught me a few words along the way.

Mik and Steve - 2007

Jezz first met Mik and Steve and I met them soon after.  They came to our parties a few times in 2004 and they are both really nice guys.

Mike - 2004

Another friend of old, Mike Keogh.  I met him a long time ago at a sauna.  We exchanged numbers and have pretty much stayed in touch.

Mike - 2005

This is Mike Osborn, another friend that came about by Jezz meeting him first.  Mike is a very gentle man, with exemplary honesty and trustworthiness.  He's also very intelligent and I'm proud to be his friend.

Nick at Worthing beach, beached - 2006

Nick and I have only known each other since 2004 but we have become incredibly close.  Here he is pictured on Worthing beach in the summer of 2006. It's more poignant that it's in black and white and brings out the nostalgic idea that this picture could easily be 40 years old. Hahaha!

Nigel - 2004

Nigel we both met, out on our travels, in South London, one evening in 2004. He's a lovely warm caring soul and I miss him now he's moved up to Portsmouth, closer to his work. But I'm thrilled that he's met someone who is the new love in his life. Bless!

Noel - 2002

This is Noel, branded my favourite ex. I went out with Noel between March 1997 and September 2000. He's very handsome and can be a very gentle person. Though we went through some tough and rough spates, my time with Noel was always vibrant and alive. But it's what we have now that makes it all worth while. Forever a friend. I hope!

Norma  - 1998

I've known Norma for so long, right back to the days when I was going out with Debbie, in 1982. But we acxtually got jarring (in both senses of the word) until much later in around 1997.
