3 May 1933 - 24 August 2013
yellowroseThis page is dedicated to a wonderful man who was a friend for a short time (559 days to be precise).

Donald (and Ian) were introduced to Jezz and I by a friend then that knew all of us. We were all together having an evening dinner. It was February 2012. For the next five months, Donald, Ian, Jezz and I did quite a lot together including many meals out, a theatre trip in Kingston, breakfasts in on a Sunday morning normally after a stroll around Surbiton and Epsom markets and afternoon tea at Clivedon House.

Donald's ill health started around July August time of 2012. It involved stays in hospital including The Royal Marsden at Sutton, Kingston Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital. Despite one short time back home, he sadly returned to hospital and died at 7.20pm on Saturday 24th August 2013. He was peaceful and I'm pleased that Ian was with him during his final moments.

My time with Ian was to become closer than ever before and the preparations for the funeral service and the creation of the book was a sad time. It reminded me of the despair I went through with Dad's service.
